Manal Youssef-Bessler, MD, FIDSA

Dr. Manal Youssef-Bessler is the founder, president, and managing member of the Infectious Disease Center of New Jersey. She earned her medical degree from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–New Jersey Medical School.

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Bessler is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and an active member of both the IDSA and the Infectious Diseases Society of New Jersey. She currently serves on the Antibiotic Stewardship and Infection Control Committees at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and previously contributed to the IDSA Task Force for Inclusion, Diversity, Access, and Equity (IDA&E).

Her clinical interests include severe sepsis and septic shock, fever of unknown origin, pulmonary and intra-abdominal infections, diabetic wound care, tick-borne diseases, HIV, Hepatitis B, and infection control.

Dr. Bessler has authored several peer-reviewed publications and poster presentations and remains actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and infectious disease fellows.
